Legs. Core. Arms. Arms. Core. Legs. That's the death mantra we experienced in Edmonton's only rowing studio that sufficiently kicked our ass and converted us into rowing fanatics. And then, cuz we loved it so much and heard they added a class called Intensity, we had to go back and get our ass handed to us again but in the form of this strength training class. These guys don't mess around with a tough workout and the studios beautiful design aesthetic makes it all hurt a little bit less.

Propel Fitness
Propel is a multi-functional athletic hub for all ages, set in what looks like a hanger offering a TON of services like personal training, group classes, postnatal fitness, and sport specific programs. We tried the group Threshold class which teaches the fundamental compound lifts like squats, deadlifts, bench presses, while mixing in cardio conditioning. This was my first workout after six weeks off from a bone fracture in my leg, so I went in extremely nervous and feeling incredibly un-fit. Fast forward an hour and I felt surprisingly good because I'd had what felt like a personal training session with a trainer that was incredibly knowledgeable and careful about rehabbing my injury. This is not your typical gym or boutique studio at all but they're doing something right and it's the only sweat session we've had where the whole family can come.
Champs Boxing
Champs Boxing Studio is a relatively new player in Edmonton’s fitness scene, and definitely knows what’s up. We'll say this; it was nerve-wracking going into our first ever boxing class - but this studio and their staff are ready to make you feel comfortable, not to mention kinda badass. The space is modern and cool, from the boxing room, to the ring in the middle of the studio and the instructors enthusiastically teach anyone how to wrap up and throw a punch. We definitely had more fun than we expected, and dare I say we felt like… champions?
Trū Ride Edmonton | Spin
Trū Ride is one of the most interesting spin studios we've experienced bc they have a different take on boutique fitness: a boutique experience ensconced in a big-box gym. Tbh, we weren’t totally sure how to feel about it - but what we do know is that we were treated to a well run class with an awesome instructor, and all the support we could hope for on a Sunday morning sweat session.
CycleBar, YEG | 4.5
We trekked all the way down to Edmonton's southern suburb, Windermere, for this spin studio review and they had us feeling like the hour+ commute was totally worth it...
Lifestyle Meditation Edmonton | Meditation
Lifestyle Meditation is Canada’s first meditation studio, and it’s a completely unique experience from any other boutique studio you’ve come to know. Their business is based predominantly on a wide variety of meditation styles, with the overall goal of giving you a stress reducing injection of quiet happiness. I mean...sounds pretty good, right?
Spinunity, YEG | 4.5
Our second class review using our Fitset pass in Edmonton, took us to one of the most unique and bad-ass spin studios we've been to. Like ever. With spray paint decor a la Fresh Prince, a basement garage vibe, and cross-functional spin classes - we had a KILLER full-body workout that left us sweaty, happy and energised.
Om Hot Yoga
bē Hot Yoga is one of the most intimate, sexy and well priced hot yoga studios we've been to in Edmonton. Actually it's the only hot yoga studio we've been to in YEG. Our Happy Hips class was exactly what we needed and the chill vibe and cool decor gave us all the feels.
City Yoga X
City Yoga X is one of the coolest and most innovative yoga companies we've come across. With no studio to tie them down, they roam from cool space to cool space to provide by-donation flow classes for all levels in new areas all over the city. Every pineapple well deserved, we LOVE what these guys are getting up to.
Yoga Central
Yoga Central is most known for being a studio of all ages, sizes, and experience levels and for creating an inclusive community. This ultra-chill YEG studio tucked away on the south side of the river is approachable, affordable and super super red.
