Barre class can range a lot from studio to studio. Some classes are more aerobic with a lot of functional training and cardio, and some will focus more on elements of Pilates, dance, and yoga. But one thing’s for sure; they’ll always work you harder than you expect.
Set to catchy music, and notorious for small movements on repeat, each exercise is targeted at specific muscle groups with the overall goal to lengthen and tone muscles, increase flexibility, and improve your core. They’re also great classes for beginners, those working with injuries or limitations (i.e. pregnant or post natal), or if you’re doing a class on the fly. If you haven’t caught the barre bug, it’s just a matter of time.
