Octopus Garden Holistic Yoga Centre is the type of yoga studios that focuses more on their community than, say, growing their presence on instagram - that's not the type of thing they care about. This giant studio in Toronto's west end has one of the most diverse yoga schedules we've seen and a cutting edge co-designed meditation space that's worth getting into meditation to try it. There's a true sense of calmness resonating through this studio and we walked away feeling like we should talk a little slower, say hi to a stranger, and look up at the sky instead of down at our phones. Om to that.
889 Community is a beautiful, calming and approachable studio in the heart of Rosedale that offers Pilates, yoga, meditation and mama and babe classes. Set in an 1800's Victorian home, the space is toxic free, full of essential oils, and oozes chillness. Namaste.
Yogaspace is the last studio review in my prenatal journey, since I popped a few weeks later (eeep!), and I'm so happy I was able to squeeze it in considering this is one of the oldest yoga studios in Toronto, and THE oldest pre and postnatal program in Toronto. Earning three pineapples for being easily located in Ossington, having over 60 classes per week and having prices that are in line with the lowest we've seen in Toronto, but the crammed spaces, lack of lockers and hour and a half prenatal class that landed somewhere between a restorative class and a flow class but without really letting us get our groove in either, left us wanting a bit more.
This TOP RATED uber specialised, modern, and super welcoming boutique mama studio specialises in pre and postnatal yoga, Pilates and barre classes, and the prenatal yoga class we took was (thankfully) not a lame watered down yoga class like many prenatal classes can be. Instead it was challenging, educational and the facilities had us coming back for more - also bc the shopping is next level adorbs.

Misfitstudio's soulful vibe, beautiful studio spaces and unique take on Pilates and dance infuse movement, grace, strength, and breath that will allow you to experience these traditional classes in a new and refreshing way.
We reviewed both Barre3 locations, including their newest to Toronto in Leslieville (!) and both studios will challenge you how you least expect it with repetitive pulsing and small movements that will tone, lengthen and strengthen your beautiful bods.
From the spry age of 4 years old, I was a slightly chunky, probably not very graceful, but very keen-jelly-bean in ballet class and I loooooved it. I grew up in Calgary, Alberta spending over 14 hours a week, every week in a studio. I was classically trained (Royal Academy of Dance) and I taught … Continue reading Meet T
