Legs. Core. Arms. Arms. Core. Legs. That's the death mantra we experienced in Edmonton's only rowing studio that sufficiently kicked our ass and converted us into rowing fanatics. And then, cuz we loved it so much and heard they added a class called Intensity, we had to go back and get our ass handed to us again but in the form of this strength training class. These guys don't mess around with a tough workout and the studios beautiful design aesthetic makes it all hurt a little bit less.
With the enormous schedule, membership flexibility, and a massive roster of some of the most influential and popular yoga instructors in the city, this yoga brand is a must visit that we'll visit again and again.
XTherapy is a newcomer to the Edmonton fitness scene, and it’s kinda what we've waited for. This clean, bright, modern studio draws you in and their cross-training strategy (spin, HIIT, and yoga) keeps you coming back. What stood out to us the most though, is the vibe that ooozes from the instructors and staff. They consider everyone who walks through the doors as ‘Warriors’, and they take on a sudo-therapist/cheerleader role, constantly dishing out positive talk and motivational speeches. We're dishing out full fruits for this one - here's why.
Undrcard has freaking nailed it. This studio is doing what people want out of boutique fitness studios now. Crazy hard classes set in an aesthetically pleasing, large, open space, that provide all amenities like great change rooms, lockers, and good quality products for a decent price, that lack a bougie attitude, and have a place for us to chill before or after class equipped with wifi, strong coffee and dairy free/gluten free/all natural delicious snacks. NBD. So, like, they're doing all of this so 5 full pineapples all DAY.
We've been to Barre Body Studio twice now to try different classes, two locations, and get our butts whipped into shape, literally. These barre classes are low-impact, aerobic and will get your heart rate up by incorporating elements of ballet, free weights and resistance-based equipment. The result is a more toned, leaner physique with a lifted and absolutely fantastic posterier.
We returned to Big Hit to check out more classes, try other instructors and see their new location at Fort York. One thing's for sure, this is not just a physical workout that will push you hard, but a mental release that feels good somewhere in the soul.
Easily one of the most anticipated reviews we've done in a while (bc some of the coolest people in our lives speak insanely highly of this place) and it did not disappoint. Immediately after class we took a desperately needed shower, bought an all black outfit and looked into a membership, which says ALOT for us.
We trekked all the way down to Edmonton's southern suburb, Windermere, for this spin studio review and they had us feeling like the hour+ commute was totally worth it...
Our second class review using our Fitset pass in Edmonton, took us to one of the most unique and bad-ass spin studios we've been to. Like ever. With spray paint decor a la Fresh Prince, a basement garage vibe, and cross-functional spin classes - we had a KILLER full-body workout that left us sweaty, happy and energised.
Spokehaus is the Canadian SoulCycle, with some of the most challenging high-intensity full-body workouts we’ve ever taken in TO. If you’re looking for a high calorie burning, incredibly challenging, 45-minute class in an environment that’s gorgeous, energising and the epitome of a boutique fitness studio, then this is for you.
