Studio Lagree is, like, a big deal. Any fitness studio regular has heard of or (more likely) been to and subsequently become obsessed with, Lagree. The workout is a hybrid of HITT and pilates, with the entire class done on an oversized megareformer pilates machine. Despite the fact this is a Pilates studio, the vibe is hardcore and the sweat is real. The class focuses on toning and lengthening your muscles to build a lean physique and don't be surprised that, even with the lack of cardio and high intensity, how tough that road is. The class killed us, and there's no doubt you'll feel a burn you didn't think Pilates could dish up.
889 Community is a beautiful, calming and approachable studio in the heart of Rosedale that offers Pilates, yoga, meditation and mama and babe classes. Set in an 1800's Victorian home, the space is toxic free, full of essential oils, and oozes chillness. Namaste.
Our 50th review is of one of Toronto’s most beautiful, quirky and eclectic boutique Pilates studio in Little Portugal: Muse Movement. They specialise in Pilates but also offer yoga and “movement therapy” and they’ve been bringing us their famous playlists and refreshing educational approach to Pilates since 2015. They have a very loyal community that fills up these small, private-feeling classes every week because Muse is such a HUGE proponent for focusing on correct alignment, and educating about the human body. Their classes will get you to slow down, concentrate, and focus on your smaller, often forgotten about, supportive muscles.
The best reason to go to Boomerang Pilates is to get personal, tailored and very technical training. Their program philosophy is based on exercising correctly and moving smartly, not just exercising to burn calories. Actually on the flip side, you may only burn about 100 cals in a class but you’ll learn all about your bod and what you’re doing to it.
